1. What interest rate do you charge?
2. Which operational costs help to determine that interest rate?
3. Do you think interest rates should be regulated? How so?
4. How much FDI do you receive? Would this change your rate of interest if you received more?
5. Do you reach the poorest of the poor? How do you work to achieve the greatest breadth of reach?
6. Would greater, more advanced, technology assist in bringing operational costs down? Do you have plans for this?
7. Do you perform staff evaluations? Would this help to ensure greater performance? (What a capitalist pig.)
8. Is your goal to break even, or to make a profit? Where does that profit go?
9. Do you measure social performance? And do you believe in the double bottom line?
and 10. Do you, does ANYONE, have any proof that microfinance actually works? Are there numbers to show higher income generation? Has Nepal's economic performance improved?
If you were ever concerned as to what the point of my trip to Nepal was, here it is ladies and gents. It's a little thing called microfinance. Off I go, my driver awaits to take me to the interview.
